Responsibilities

  • Develop formalized security policies, standards and guidelines for adoption by corporate governance.
  • Implement an ongoing risk assessment and mitigation program for information assets.
  • Create programs, processes, and projects that achieve security compliances.
  • Improve the implementation of current security controls; implement new controls where needed; regularly monitor and report on implemented controls.
  • Regularly audit information systems and data processing facilities to expose vulnerabilities; report findings and steward remediation efforts.
  • Coordinate incident response planning and execution; evaluate suspected security breaches and manage corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and report changes to the corporate information processing environment for security impact.
  • Develop and deliver the corporate security awareness and training program.
  • Manage work and deliverables of 3rd-party contractors/consultants engaged to assess and improve the company’s information security profile

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • A college degree (BA/BS) in Computer Sciences, or equivalent work experience
  • Additional Information Security related training and/or job experience
  • A current certification in Information Security (i.e. GIAC Information Security Professional, CISSP, etc.)
  • Excellent staff management skills
  • Abilitity to interface with senior management
  • 3-5 years of management experience
  • A service-oriented, "teach, don't preach" approach in dealing with internal customers

Strong Pluses

  • Enterprise information security policy and program establishment in a 500+ person organization
  • IT information security risk assessment and mitigation for internal and customer facing systems
