    • This technical leadership position will leverage the candidate’s extensive systems and software knowledge. The software currently under development utilizes open source software, including: Java (with Spring and Hibernate), Amazon SQS, SNS and other AWS technologies. Transactional and big data expertise in MongoDB, PostGRES and Redshift are definite advantages.
    • Coordinate activities of the software development team with product owners, team leads, QA, field engineers, hardware engineers and manufacturing both in-house and outsourced.
    • Manage and encourage best practices in the software team around design, development, quality assurance, version control, deployments and maintenance the company’s key software products.
    • Use good organizational, communication, and consensus-building skills to manage the development process.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time and according to required quality standards.
    • Mentor, maintain and grow the software organization to be a highly performant team of engineers and quality assurance personnel.
    • Facilitate communication across project teams including project status, justifications for variances and technical information (architecture, design and implementation objectives).
    • Evaluate progress and results of development efforts to ensure development teams improve efficiency and quality as they execute.


    Must Haves

    • At least 7 years of enterprise software experience.
    • Leadership in enterprise software at a Senior Manager or Director level.
    • Expert organizational, leadership, decision making and communication skills.
    • Excellent knowledge of Agile Software Development Principles, Patterns, and Practices (primarily Scrum).
    • Must have recent track record of delivering enterprise level, highly scalable and robust platform services. 
    • Experience with Linux-based software development including Java, ActiveMQ, MongoDB, PostGRES, caching techniques delivered in an Amazon AWS environment.
    • Knowledgeable in the latest software services, web and mobile software applications and technologies --- excited and enthusiastic about emerging applications for these technologies.
    • Ability to write technical documentation, including code guidelines and best practices.
    • Ability to make technical presentations to development teams and various levels of management.
    • Ability to successfully troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues in stressful situations and in working with cross-functional teams
    • Delivery of service oriented architecture platforms

    Strong Plus

    • Recent hands on experience to establish credibility with senior engineering staff.
