R&D continually investigates activities our business conducts to improve existing products and procedures and to lead to the development of new products and procedures.  Specifically, this intern will help with development and advanced development on LoJack Beyond class products.


As a Hardware Engineer Intern in our Canton, Massachusetts office, you will work closely with a team of experienced engineers to design, build, and debug new telematics devices. You will assist with the following:

  • Low-power radio frequency hardware
  • Low-power battery-power electronics with RF, bluetooth, wi-fi
  • Base station hardware (electronics controlling antennas in towers)
  • High-speed digital circuitry
  • Cell coverage and technology associated with antennas
  • LoJack Beyond (Barracuda) development
  • Enabling wi-fi hotspots in cars


Must Haves

  • Junior or senior student pursuing a Bachelor's degree OR any student pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field
  • Interest in data radios, embedded systems, and/or firmware
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness and desire to be a team player

Strong Pluses

  • In-depth knowledge of Python, C/C++, or LabView programming
  • Strong grasp of embedded Linux programming
  • Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers
  • Go-getter attitude with energized work ethic
  • Has taken a course or has interest in digital design
  • Has taken a course or has interest in RF
