    The CalAmp Program Management Office has responsibility for customer delivery of product and services for our key customer accounts. The success of this role is measured by rating customer satisfaction at the customer, managing the deployment P&L effectively, and managing the deliverables and issues internally and directly with the client. The Program Management Intern will assist in managing multiple projects through the product realization lifecycle, as well as assist in development and documentation of Program Management processes and procedures for the organization.


    The Program/Project Management Intern is responsible to assist in identifying, administering, and monitoring tasks which may cross several functional areas of the customer and CalAmp, and maintaining the critical relationship that supports the corporate goals, strategy, and vision of CalAmp with the customer. The intern will receive specific supervision as to objectives, approach, and results expected.


    The intern will assist with the following activities:

    • Work with customers to agree on and solidify product and program specifications; document and communicate specifications to customer and cross functional CalAmp team
    • Create project plans covering integrated schedule with interdependencies, resources, risks, quality and commercialization.
    • Responsible for day-to-day coordination of multiple concurrent projects to achieve successful completion of project objectives.
    • Work with internal CalAmp employees, third party vendors, and the customer in support of the project.
    • Manage each program utilizing standard project management life cycle processes and report on project status, activities and issues
    • Assist in development, enhancement and documentation of Program and Project Management tools, processes and procedures used by the organization. 
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Must Haves

    • Enrolled in a Program/Project Management or related degree program
    • Familiarity with program management methods and tools
    • Familiarity with standard project management lifecycle processes (such as Initiation, Planning, Launch, Execution & Controlling, and Closing)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel 
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks on a daily basis
    • Ability to learn quickly
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Self-motivating and self-managing attitude

    Strong Pluses

    • Familiarity with Microsoft Project
    • Enrolled in a Program/Project Management or related degree program in a Technology-related field or Business Administration field
