Overview

Currently, we are seeking a Engineer II, Quality with at least 5+ years of experience, based in Carlsbad, CA. 

Responsibilities

  • Development, maintenance and execution of comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts and measure continuous improvements.
  • Drive release management life cycle, including scheduling deployments for different environments, provide production GO for release candidate.
  • Work with different engineering development teams to plan, schedule deployment windows, execute tests, assist teams in replicating issues - both functional and non-functional.
  • Work with test automation groups to provide them requirements, priorities, coordinate with other teams for automation where needed
  • Ensure all software tests identify defects and meet quality benchmarks by thoroughly evaluating test results against expected outcomes
  • Ownership for the not only maintaining release quality, but also improve and drive upwards in consecutive releases

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Proficient in Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Must Haves

  • Expertise in both manual and automated testing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Robot Framework, Postman, and Chrome Developer Tools.
  • Proficient in microservice architectures and REST APIs, event driven services.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, particularly in identifying test coverage and evaluating test effectiveness.

Strong Pluses

  • Familiarity with databases (relational and non-relational), GraphQL, AWS services, Atlassian products like Jira and Zephyr.
  • Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter.
  • Distributed and international teams, particularly within an onshore-offshore model.
  • Familiarity with Telematics/IoT based systems.
